Five-Week Class to Help Those with Memory Concerns

CLEARWATER, Fla., (August 15, 2018) -- As we age, staying cognitively fit is just as important as staying physically fit. To help with that Morton Plant Hospital is sponsoring a five-week Memory Fit Training program on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 5 at the Aging Well Center at the Long Center, 1501 N Belcher Road, Clearwater.

Memory Fit is for individuals with age-related memory concerns who wish to improve or maintain their memory ability but not for those who already have Alzheimer’s disease or age-related memory concerns.

Participants will learn general strategies to improve memory including techniques to remember faces and names, numbers and items on a grocery list. Homework to practice concepts will be assigned each week.

The cost is $25 and participants must be able to attend all five sessions.

The Memory Fit Program was created by Dr. Gary Small at the UCLA Longevity Center.
