South Florida Baptist Hospital is Moving Soon!

Since 1953, South Florida Baptist Hospital has served the community’s health and wellness needs in our legacy hospital on N. Alexander St. in Plant City.

In 2021, we broke ground on the new South Florida Baptist Hospital to meet the growing and changing needs of our community. The new hospital will open soon, and our patients will move to the new facility and enjoy the same compassionate care in a modern hospital that features the latest in clinical care.

The new 424,000 square foot hospital, located at 3202 N. Park Rd. (at the corner of Park Rd. and Sam Allen Rd.) includes:

  • New Medical Office Building – 89,000 square feet
  • Inpatient/Observation private rooms – 146
  • Intensive care unit beds – 26
  • Emergency Department and Fast Track beds – 32
  • Interventional/Cardiac catheterization suites – 3
  • Operating rooms – 8
  • Labor and delivery unit, C-section room, mother/baby unit
  • BayCare Outpatient Imaging
  • BayCare Outreach Laboratory
  • Outpatient infusion center
  • Wound and hyperbaric center
  • Adult physical therapy
  • Nearly 800 team members

As a security enhancement, all visitors to the new hospital will check in at guest services. A photo ID will be required for access to patient floors.

South Florida Baptist expands to Plant City

Because there is no room left to expand or retro-fit infrastructure in the current building, BayCare announced plans for the construction of a new South Florida Baptist Hospital just a few miles from its current spot. The new spot is off Exit-22 of I-4.  "After 67 years, we have run out of room to expand the hospital on its current site," says hospital president, Karen Kerr.
