Founded in 1916, Morton Plant Hospital was the first hospital built in northern Pinellas County. In 2019, Morton Plant Hospital continues to be a leader in its field, having been nationally recognized by IBM Watson Health as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the country for the 7th time. The 599-bed facility provides highly technical and specialized care to more than 50,000 patients annually and works in more than 50 specialty areas. With the recent opening of the Doyle Tower, Morton Plant Hospital continues its transformation to meet the future health care needs of the community. The tower offers an additional main entrance to the hospital and a new surgical center, and the women’s services and orthopedics units feature large private rooms. All are designed to be more efficient and to improve patient, visitor and physician experience.
BayCare announced visitation hours will expand to 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily starting Wednesday, Oct. 21 in advance of the time change on Nov. 1, so visitors who wish to travel home before dark will still have extended time to visit.
Our Morton Plant Hospital Gift Shop volunteers are always ready with the perfect gift to suit all your gift giving needs.
Located on the first floor of the hospital, the cafeteria is open daily from 6am to 3am. Vending machines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Your spiritual and emotional well-being are important to us. Chaplains are available to visit, talk and/or pray with you. The Chapel, located off the main entrance lobby, is a place where people of all faiths can come for quiet reflection and personal prayer. Chaplains can be reached through the hospital operator or by calling (727) 462-3286.
