Fruity Taste Not Always Nutritious
To get the recommended five servings a day of fruits and vegetables, you might turn to fruit juices. Not all fruit beverages are nutritious, though. It's important to check the label, looking for 100 percent fruit juice, advises the American Dietetic Association. Fruit beverages that aren't 100 percent juice have added sugars that replace the nutrition found in juice and boost the calories in the drink. Clues to these beverages are in their names: fruit drink, fruit cocktail and fruitade.
