Fellows serve as team physicians for several Pinellas County High Schools and as assistant team physicians for NCAA Division 1 college athletes and professional athletes in Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, and the Arena Football League. Endurance mass events coverage is substantial from 5K/10K races to IronMan Distance Triathlons.
Fellows work with USF team physicians Drs. David Leffers, Charles Nofsinger, Eric Coris and Byron Moran providing sideline coverage and conducting training room rounds.
Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Clearwater Threshers and Philadelphia Union
Fellows work with team physicians Drs. Allen Hughes, and Ted Farrar assisting with preparticipation physical evaluations, conducting game coverage and conducting training room rounds. The Toronto Blue Jays hold their spring training in Dunedin and their class A advanced minor league affiliate also plays in Dunedin. The Threshers are the Class A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Phillies. The Phillies hold spring training in Clearwater. Major League Soccer team Philadelphia Union also holds its spring training in Clearwater.
Tampa Bay Rowdies
Fellows will work with Dr. Chris Salud, former fellow, providing game coverage when available.
Pinellas County High Schools
Fellows provide preparticipation physical evaluations and game and event coverage for several high schools.
Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot
Fellows will be involved in the planning and provision of race day medical coverage.
Tri Rock Triathlon, Clearwater, FL
Fellows will be involved as medical co-directors of this endurance mass event with supervision by Dr. Ted Farrar. Duties include medical consultation, patient care, event planning, coordination with Pinellas County EMS, and other medical aspects of this competition.
St. Anthony's Triathlon
Fellows provide race day coverage under the supervision of medical co-directors Drs. John Gross as long as this event does not conflict with the AMSSM Annual Meeting.
Florida IronMan 70.3
Fellows will provide race day coverage with medical director, Dr. Farrar, for this IronMan event in Haines City, FL.
