William Hasson II, MD

William Hasson II, MDMedical School: Florida International University
Interests: Salsa dancing, long-distance running, swimming, bowling, cooking and snorkeling.
Of Note: William has a strong interest in patient advocacy. He has been a long-term volunteer with the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP™ organization, which helps patients access longitudinal care and social services. He also served as a student coordinator with the Law Clinic at FIU helping uninsured people find affordable health insurance. 

Kristin Hertweck, MD

Kristin Hertweck, MDMedical School: Southern Illinois University
Interests: Basketball, softball, kickball and biking.
Of Note: Kristin held numerous leadership positions at her medical school, ranging from serving on curriculum committees for three years, to being the Psychiatry Interest Group president, to serving as the Events Coordinator for her school’s FMIG. She also served as a “hotspotting” volunteer that involved working with a team of medical students, pharmacy students, business students and social workers to help “high-utilizing” patients fulfill their medical and social needs. 

Shaan Mehta, MD

Shaan Mehta, MDMedical School: Northeast Ohio Medical University
Interests: Traveling, trying new cuisines, spending time with friends and family watching football, world events and national politics.
Of Note: As an undergraduate, Shaan designed and presented a plan to state legislators to help decrease smoking in his county. As a medical student Shaan was an active member in the Pediatric Action Club, organizing several events. He also spent time working in a government hospital in India helping underserved patients.

Brittany Moore, MD

Brittany Moore, MDMedical School: University of Rochester
Interests: Singing, reading, journaling, painting/art, fashion, fitness & wellness, interior decorating and gardening.
Of Note: Brittany served as the Community Service Chair of the very active Rochester chapter of the Student National Medical Association. She also served as a Big Sib in the SNMA Big Sib/Little Sib program and was a long-term volunteer at the student-run UR Well Health Clinic at her school.

Paolina Pantcheva, MD

Paolina Pantcheva, MDMedical School: University of South Florida
Interests: Photography, painting, embroidery, reading, cooking, community volunteer work, hiking and biking.
Of Note: Polley has a passion for service as demonstrated by her numerous volunteer experiences including work with children, youth, senior adults and those with disabilities. She also served at the USF student-run BRIDGE clinic and as a Doctoring 4 Theory & Teaching student preceptor. 

Cicily Stanton, MD

Cicily Stanton, MDMedical School: University of Oklahoma
Interests: Cooking, baking, music, scrapbooking, photography and traveling.
Of Note: Cicily volunteered for seven years at Manos Juntas, a community free clinic whose name means “joined hands”, that provides medical, lab, pharmacy and educational services to the underserved. She also served as a student ambassador for the University of Oklahoma and as her medical school class president. 

Jason Stanton, MD

Jason Stanton, MDMedical School: University of Oklahoma
Interests: Jogging, basketball, golf, billiards, movies, music and spending time with his wife.
Of Note: Jason served as a student council representative for the Global Health Interest Group at his school and participated in a medical mission trip to rural Uganda. Jason also served as a long-term volunteer at two clinics in Oklahoma City.

Naa Sika Williams, MD

Naa Sika Williams, MDMedical School: University of South Florida
Interests: Music, movies and spending time with family and friends
Of Note: Naa Sika was elected as the Minority Pre-Professional Science Society and Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students Liaison. In this position she was responsible for the mentoring program between the USF medical students and the undergraduate members of the MPSS/MAPS where she organized panel discussions during which pre-health students could ask advice of students from the colleges of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, physical therapy and public health.
