Glenn WatersGlenn Waters is the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for BayCare Health System, a leading, not-for-profit health care system that connects individuals and families to a wide range of services at 15 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and central Florida regions. BayCare's inpatient and outpatient services include: acute care, primary care, imaging, laboratory, behavioral health, home care, fitness and urgent care centers.

As EVP/COO, Waters is responsible for the operations, strategic planning and clinical integration of BayCare’s hospitals, ambulatory care and behavioral health services, and the administrative management of BayCare Medical Group, the region’s leading multi-specialty physician group with over 500 providers practicing in more than 160 locations in 45 specialties throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Prior to his current appointment, Waters was BayCare’s Hospital Division President from 2013-2015. He also was President of Morton Plant Mease Health Care, where he earned a reputation as a forward-thinking, strategic leader, from 2008-2013.

With his leadership, BayCare has launched major transformations of its hospital campuses and ambulatory services to meet the growing needs of the community, received numerous national recognitions for quality of care, brought innovative procedures and services to its patients, and expanded community outreach through education and partnerships emphasizing health and wellness.

Waters also guided the development of BayCare’s first system-wide oncology strategy and provided executive leadership for BayCare Behavioral Health, the Tampa Bay area’s largest provider of mental health and substance abuse services.

Before joining BayCare, Waters was the chief operating officer at Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Waters received his Master of Hospital Administration from the Virginia Commonwealth University and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
