    He was excellent in communicating what I needed to know about my surgery and and the things I needed to do to help me heal afterwards. He told me what procedures he had to do to repair the internal damage and how long it would take to recover from the surgery. He is an excellent surgeon and an outstanding doctor. I am so glad that he had picked up my case when I was admitted to Mease Countryside Hospital. I would recommend him every time anyone else has need of a GI Surgeon.

    • Dr. Ted Small is board certified in general surgery and sees patients age 18 and older. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He continued his medical education by completing a general surgery internship and residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Small is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he performed and taught surgical techniques. He performs all varieties of laparoscopic or minimally invasive procedures including hernia, adrenal, spleen, colon and weight loss surgeries. He is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Southern Medical Association, the Southeastern Surgical Congress, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
