Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists 

Our team includes Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCESs), registered nurses and dietitians trained to help with:

  • Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA)
  • Gestational diabetes and diabetes during pregnancy
  • Diabetes in children

CDCESs are certified by the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education. They teach patients about healthy eating, checking blood sugar, taking medicine, staying active and preventing problems.

Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs 

BayCare offers diabetes and prediabetes education and support across the network. Services vary by location, day and time. Some may offer online appointments only. Many insurance plans and Medicare cover these services with a provider referral. Check with your plan for any out-of-pocket costs. If you're uninsured or your plan doesn't cover outpatient diabetes education, contact your local hospital's diabetes education program at one of the numbers below.
