BayCare Health System Names New Vice President of System Finance

Clearwater, Fla., (March 8, 2018) – BayCare Health System has named David Rood the new vice president of System Finance. BayCare is the leading not-for-profit organization comprised of 15 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout Tampa Bay and central Florida regions.

Rood, a former partner at KPMG LLP in San Francisco, California, will lead BayCare’s financial accounting and reporting, revenue management, capital assets, financial planning and analysis, tax, accounts payable and payroll.

“I am excited to bring a professional of this caliber to the BayCare family,” said Janice Polo, executive vice president and chief financial officer for BayCare. “Rood’s strong business and leadership skills will help drive our efforts across the system to even greater stature."

Rood brings more than two decades of tremendous experience in audit management and leadership to BayCare. As an auditor at KPMG, he helped lead audits for some of the largest companies in the country including integrated delivery health systems, hospitals, health plans, durable medical equipment providers, long-term care and assisted living organizations, physician practice management companies, home health agencies and many more.

Rood also served as the managing partner for KPMG’s Tampa office developing and executing its strategic business plans. In this role, he worked with BayCare where he became familiar with the region and the marketplace. Early in his career, David held several positions at Sprint PCS and Arthur Andersen & Co. LLP in Kansas City.

Rood completed his bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration at the University of Kansas.
