BayCare Facility Operational Updates Due to Hurricane Irma

CLEARWATER, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2017) – In preparation for Hurricane Irma’s impact on the Tampa Bay area, BayCare is announcing the following operational changes.

All BayCare hospital locations remain open, with the exception of Morton Plant North Bay and Winter Haven Women’s Hospital. Patients at Morton Plant North Bay will be transferred to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and Mease Dunedin Hospital. 

Patients at Winter Haven Women’s Hospital and all maternity services are being transferred to Winter Haven Hospital.

BayCare Behavioral Health will be transferring patients from four facilities to inpatient hospital-based, behavioral health units. The four locations are: 

  • Community Recovery Center, New Port Richey
  • Integrated Stabilization Unit, New Port Richey
  • Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center, Lutz
  • Statewide Integrated Psychiatric Program, New Port Richey
Mease Dunedin, Morton Plant, St. Anthony’s and St. Joseph’s behavioral health will be the receiving facilities for these patients

All elective surgeries are canceled for Monday, Sept. 11.

Four BayCare Urgent Care locations will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are at:

  • 3440 W. Dr. MLK Blvd, Ste. 100, Tampa 
  • 3351 N McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater
  • 2331 Fourth St. N, St Petersburg
  • 2016 SR 60 E, Valrico

All BayCare Outpatient Surgery Centers will close through Monday. They are:

  • Bardmoor Surgery Center
  • Carillon Surgery Center’
  • St. Anthony’s Physicians Surgery Center
  • BayCare Surgery Center Trinity
All BayCare Outpatient Laboratories and BayCare Outpatient Imaging locations will be closed through Monday. 

The BayCare Fitness Centers at Carillon and Palm Harbor and Cheek-Powell Fitness Center will close through Monday.

The Winter Haven Hospital Community Blood Center will be closed through Monday.
