St. Anthony's Hospital Expands Role as Tampa Bay Rowdies' Official Medical Partner

BayCare Event Medicine Now at Al Lang Stadium for Matches

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 8, 2017) – In the fourth consecutive year of being named the official medical partner for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, St. Anthony’s Hospital has expanded its role by offering care for fans at all matches. In addition to providing medical care for the team, BayCare Event Medicine now will be in the clinic space at Al Lang Stadium to assist fans in case of medical emergencies during matches. 

BayCare and St. Anthony’s embrace the opportunity to connect with community partners to bring increased access to health care to both athletes and their fans. 

St. Anthony’s, located at 1200 Seventh Ave. N, St Petersburg, has a large sports medicine program that provides athletic trainers and medical services for professional and area high schools sports teams. 

Serving as team physicians for the Rowdies will be Christopher Salud, MD, a board-certified family medicine and sports medicine physician; Mohit Bansal, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon; and Vania Reyes, MD, a board certified sports medicine physician. Andrew Keane and Michelle Leget, members of the St. Anthony’s sports medicine team, also are athletic trainers for the Rowdies.

St. Anthony's Sports Medicine Program consists of a professional team of board-certified orthopedic surgeon, board-certified sports medicine physicians, physical therapists and certified athletic trainers offering treatment and rehabilitation to help weekend warriors and professional athletes get back in the game. As part of the BayCare Health System, St. Anthony’s Sports Medicine Program partners with local high schools providing athletic trainers for a variety of high school sports including football, soccer and baseball.
