Board Certified in Family Medicine

CLEARWATER, Fla., (January 4, 2017) – Board certified family physician Melissa Torres, DO, has joined BayCare Medical Group and is accepting new patients at Palm Harbor West Family Medicine, 2939 US Alt. 19, Palm Harbor.

Dr. Torres received her undergraduate degrees in biology and Spanish from Michigan State University in East Lansing. After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Dr. Torres completed a family practice internship and residency at the University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Torres has a special interest in providing preventative healthcare aimed at adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. Her clinical interests include integrative and manipulative medicine, and she is pursuing certification in functional medicine.

She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Torres speaks fluent Spanish.
