Morton Plant North Bay Offers Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., (February 8, 2017) -- Morton Plant North Bay Hospital recently began offering cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a medically supervised exercise and education program of care for patients who are recovering from a heart event or procedure or who have chronic respiratory problems.

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is designed to help patients regain stamina and strength, improve activity level, reduce the risk of future cardiac events, decrease pain and shortness of breath, and lessen the physical and emotional effects of heart and lung disease.

Patients with cardiac or respiratory diagnoses such as asthma, bronchitis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, heart attack, heart failure, coronary bypass surgery, stents, heart valve replacement, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and stable angina are candidates for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
