Athletes Get Earlier Sign Up for Weekend of Events, April 28-30, 2017

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (Sept. 7, 2016) – The St. Anthony’s Triathlon, which has been ranked as the fourth largest triathlon in the country by USA Triathlon, will celebrate its 34th year by kicking off registration on Oct. 3 and giving athletes more time to sign up for the premier multi-sport races held along the beautiful waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg.

“We have heard from many athletes who say that as they are planning their upcoming triathlon calendars, they want to make sure they get St. Anthony’s on their list early,” said Susan Daniels, St. Anthony’s Triathlon manager. “We listened and will now open up registration in October instead of later in the year so that competitors can make plans to participate.”

The St. Anthony’s Triathlon is known for attracting a wide range of professional and amateur athletes including Ironman world champions, Olympic gold medalists and celebrity athletes. More than 3,100 athletes from more than 40 states, the District of Columbia and about 10 countries participated in the events in 2016.

The dates are set for the Triathlon weekend, April 28-30, 2017. “Whether professional or novice, youngster or young at heart, there is an event for every athlete,” Daniels said. Register on Oct. 3 at https://runsignup.com/Race/FL/SaintPetersburg/StAnthonys
