BayCare Medical Group Welcomes Jose Pizarro-Otero, MD, MSCS

Dr. Pizarro-Otero specializes in neurology and sleep medicine.

Tampa, Fla. (Oct. 31, 2016) – Jose Pizarro-Otero, MD, MSCS, joined BayCare Medical Group and is now accepting new patients (age 18 and older) at 10141 Big Bend Rd., Suite 206, Riverview, FL 33578.

Board certified in internal medicine, neurology and sleep medicine, Dr. Pizarro-Otero also is a certified multiple sclerosis specialist. His clinical interests include neuroimmunology (multiple sclerosis), sleep disorders, epilepsy, narcolepsy and headaches.

Dr. Pizarro-Otero received his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He subsequently completed two residencies: one for internal medicine at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and the other in neurology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. He followed that with a sleep medicine fellowship, also at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

Dr. Pizarro-Otero is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American College of Physicians and Hillsborough County Medical Association. He is the current president of the Tampa Bay Latin American Medical Society and serves as an affiliate assistant professor of neurology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
