Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your visitation guidelines?

Visits by family and friends are very important to the patient. At the same time, privacy and safety must be maintained. For those reasons, we ask that you follow these guidelines.

    • All visitors and family members must go through security check-in which includes passing through a metal detector and a belonging search.  Next is check-in at the front desk to obtain a visitor pass. Visitors are limited to three per patient. Badges must be returned prior to leaving.
    • All visitors are required to show a form of identification such as driver’s license, state ID or passport to obtain a visitor badge.
    • All children should be under the supervision of an adult other than the patient at all times.
    • All visitors should be healthy and free from colds, flu and infection.
    • For security, only authorized personnel have access to our stairwells.
    • Do not wait or visit in the hallways.
    • We ask that all visitors wash their hands.

  • What are the visiting hours?
    • During triage, one person may visit.
    • During labor and delivery, three people may visit at a time. There are no specified visiting hours while a mom is in labor.
    • Because an obstetrics stay is so short and the mother’s need for rest is so great, it’s wise to delay or limit visitors.
    • On the mother-baby unit, three people may visit during the hours of 8 am-8 pm
    • Patients may place “Do Not Disturb” signs on their door when they desire rest and privacy.
    • (Visitors of any age may visit with the patient’s approval)
  • How may I take a tour of your facility?
We would be delighted to introduce you to Winter Haven Women's Hospital. Maternity Center Orientation is our virtual tour and information session. Click here to register for our virtual tour or call 1-800-BayCare for more information.
  • May children visit?
Yes. Visitors of any age may visit with the patient’s approval. We ask that children should be under supervision of an adult other than the patient at all times.
  • What are your cafeteria hours?

Patients enjoy room service for all meals. Our talented culinary staff is available to prepare delicious meals for our patients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A menu is provided for times and selections.

The cafeteria serving staff and visitors is open Monday – Friday Breakfast 7am – 10am Lunch 11am – 2pm closed weekends and holidays.
