Elevating Mease Countryside Hospital
Mease Countryside Hospital’s Bilheimer Tower is now open. As we continue with our commitment to improve the health of our community, we’re raising the level of quality health care. This expansion maintains our focus on supporting clinical excellence and enhancing the care for all we serve.
The new Bilheimer Tower includes:
- 70 private patient rooms
- New main entrance for the entire hospital
- 34 critical care rooms combined into one cohesive unit
- 30-bed observation unit next to the Jacobsen Emergency Center
- State-of-the-art Entel Education Center with multiple meeting rooms for patient, family, team member and community education
- Renovated gift shop
- Tranquil garden outdoor courtyard with dining and seating areas, a children’s play space and a water feature offering visitors a relaxing area that incorporates natural elements
The major expansion totaling $156 million includes a new 4-story tower and a parking garage with 950 parking spaces.
Bilheimer Tower is the new main entrance to Mease Countryside Hospital, creating a central, welcoming front door to the hospital. 
The bright, open main lobby welcomes visitors with a stunning wave sculpture, information desk, seating area and gift shop. 
Nestled in the center of the hospital is the tranquil garden courtyard that includes shaded seating areas, water feature and children's play space. 
Bilheimer Tower combines our intensive care and critical care units into one and features 34 private rooms equipped with innovative technology. 
The Entel Education Center has four state-of-the-art meeting rooms for patient, family, team member and community education. 
The courtyard's central location connects Bilheimer Tower to our existing Shaffer and Villa Towers, providing visitors, patients and team members with views of the garden from multiple angles. 
Over 300 pieces of artwork from Syd Entel Galleries hangs throughout Bilheimer Tower, including patient rooms. 
The third and fourth floors house the medical-surgical units with 70 private patient rooms. Overall, the hospital's total private rooms increased from 31% to 82%. 
The first floor welcomes patients and visitors with an open lobby including a large seating area along with the renovated gift shop right next to the lobby.
