Susan earned her MSN in Women’s Health from the University of Florida in 1996, and then completed her certification in Nurse Midwifery in 2000 from the University of Florida. After eight years in full scope OB/GYN practice, she joined the faculty at UF to teach in the nurse midwifery track at the master’s level. During her tenure at UF, Susan completed her PhD in Nursing from Barry University. An opportunity to join the faculty at Vanderbilt University arose in 2012 and she relocated to Nashville for five years to continue with her graduate teaching experience with the OB/GYN residents in the school of medicine. The Florida sun and beaches recalled her in 2017 and she returned to Florida, this time on the west coast. Susan and her husband enjoy the outdoors and water activities, so joining the team at USF/Turley Family Health Center to help teach Family Practice residents was a perfect fit.

Susan and her husband have a blended family. They love the out-of-doors, boating, kayaking, visiting state parks and eating mostly Spanish influence/Caribbean cuisine.
