Implemented
processes to ensure all patients presenting to our ER with a complaint of Chest Pain will receive aspirin upon his/her arrival. Streamline communication
between emergency staff, registration staff and nursing so patient can receive ECG upon arrival.  SFB implemented a vertical ER. Any patient who mentions chest pain upon entry to the ER immediately receives an EKG in a private triage area reserved for vertical patients. The only patients not currently meeting the standard are those that do not mention chest pain until well into their visit. Implemented Provider First program- during high capacity hours, upon arrival patients are seen by an Advanced Practice Provider. Also implemented Nursing Standard of Practice Protocol tool related to detection of atypical presentation of myocardial infarction.
