Shannon M. Foster, Ph.D., joins BayCare Medical Group

Licensed Clinical Psychologist Specializes in Neuropsychology and Geropsychology

CLEARWATER, Fla., (July 12, 2016) – Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Shannon M. Foster has joined BayCare Medical Group and is seeing patients at Morton Plant Neurology, 430 Morton Plant Street, Suite 402, Clearwater.

Specializing in neuropsychology and geropsychology, Dr. Foster is passionate about the early detection of dementia and helping individuals with dementia and their caregivers optimize their quality of life.  She also has experience evaluating and providing treatment to individuals with a diverse range of neurological and psychiatric symptoms, including but not limited to traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, depression and anxiety.
Dr. Foster received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla. She then completed a graduate degree and Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.  Following this Dr. Foster completed an American Psychology Association approved neuropsychology internship at the VA Maryland Health Care System/University of Maryland School of Medicine Consortium in Baltimore. She followed up with a fellowship in adult and geriatric neuropsychology at the Southern California Consortium for Advanced Training in Neuropsychology in San Diego.
Dr. Foster also has worked on interdisciplinary teams with neurologists and neurosurgeons to complete presurgical evaluations for epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease treatments.
She is a member of the America Psychological Association, the Gerontological Society of America and the International Neuropsychological Society.
