December 13, 2016
Haines City, Fla., (December 13, 2016) – As part of its commitment to expanding access to health care in Polk County and the Tampa Bay area, BayCare Health System is opening its first Urgent Care Center in Polk County. Opened on December 12, BayCare Urgent Care will be located at 36245 U.S. Highway 27, Haines City, FL 33844. Urgent care centers are a convenient alternative to health care for minor illnesses or injuries, flu and colds, sprains and strains, minor cuts, stings and burns.

“We are excited to expand health services in Polk County to residents on the east side,” said Nathan Keith Waldrep, MD, director of physician services, BayCare Urgent Care. “We believe this location will be a benefit to residents, as well as the area’s seasonal and vacation visitors who might be far from their regular physician.”

As part of its introduction to the east Polk community, BayCare Urgent Care in Haines City is offering free flu shots to the first 100 patients to visit the new location. Appointments are not required.

BayCare Urgent Care centers offer total care experience including lab work, X-rays, EKG’s, flu shots, school and sports physicals and dispensing of certain medications. They also offer occupational health services including post-hire physicals, vaccinations, drug screenings, treatment for workplace injuries and corporate wellness.

For added convenience, patients can schedule their appointments online using Save Your Spot. Save Your Spot allows patients to make a reservation at any BayCare Urgent Care location and choose a time that is most convenient. Patients receive a confirmation for their reservation and alerts by text. Save Your Spot can be accessed through www.BayCareUrgentCare.org using a smartphone, tablet or computer.
