Tampa, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2016) – Elizabeth Myers, DO, joined BayCare Medical Group and is now accepting new patients (age 18 and older) at 4301 Habana Ave., Tampa, FL 33607.

Dr. Myers is board certified in general surgery, specializing in colon and rectal surgery. She has expertise in transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) and robotic surgery for the management of colorectal diseases, with an emphasis on rectal cancer treatment. Her clinical interests include a broad-based practice of treating colorectal cancers, anorectal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), diverticulitis, and pelvic floor disorders (fecal incontinence, constipation, and rectal prolapse) with a particular focus on minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

An accomplished author, Dr. Myers has contributed numerous articles to peer-related publications including Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, Surgical Endoscopy and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Myers received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, followed by a general surgery residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. She then completed three fellowships: colon and rectal surgery at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland; clinical research at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center; and minimally invasive colorectal and rectal cancer management at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.
