Dr. Hossain specializes in hematology-oncology.

Tampa, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2016) – A. Mosharraf Hossain, MD, MPH, joined BayCare Medical Group and is now accepting new patients (age 18 and older) at 1601 W. Timberland Dr., Plant City, FL 33566.

Dr. Hossain is board certified in oncology and internal medicine, with clinical interests in both solid and liquid tumor treatment and bone marrow transplant. An accomplished author, he has contributed articles and scientific papers on hematology and oncology in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood Cancer Journal and American Journal of Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Psychiatry, American College of Physicians, and American Association of Public Health.

Before joining BayCare Medical Group, Dr. Hossain served as an associate professor and medical director for the Division of Hematology and Oncology, as well as an associate fellowship director, at the University of Missouri in Columbia.


Dr. Hossain received his Doctor of Medicine from Dhaka Medical College – Dhaka University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He then completed residencies in internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown, followed by a hematology and oncology fellowship at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, also in Morgantown. In addition to English, he is fluent in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
