A Stroke-Certified Hospital
Morton Plant North Bay Hospital is the first hospital in Pasco County to qualify for Primary Stroke Hospital certification from The Joint Commission. This Gold Seal of Approval™ means our protocols for treating stroke patients meet the standards of the best programs in the country. To qualify, a hospital must prove readiness to deliver stroke care within the first three hours that the event occurs.
The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognizes Morton Plant North Bay Hospital for achieving the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke GOLD PLUS award. Hospitals receiving Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award have reached an aggressive goal of treating stroke patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 24 consecutive months. In addition, Morton Plant North Bay Hospital has demonstrated achieving "Time to Intravenous Thrombolytic Therapy ≤ 60 minutes in 50 percent or more of applicable acute ischemic stroke patients to improve quality of patient care and outcomes."
