Career Growth

Leadership Development:

BayCare is committed to the growth and development of all its team members, and this commitment is underscored by the continual investment in mentoring, learning and preparing leaders for the changing health care environment.

All team members have the opportunity to attend classes to further develop their skills and interests. These learning opportunities are offered at the BayCare System Office (BSO) but often on site at hospital locations as well. Topics include communication, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and many more.

High potential team members who demonstrate leadership skills and express a desire for continued growth into a possible leadership role can work with their leaders and submit an application for the Aspiring Leaders Program (ALP). Team members accepted into ALP take classes that mirror the content found in the Leadership Essentials Program for current leaders. Although acceptance in ALP does not guarantee a future leadership position, many team members have moved forward in their careers within their department.

Newly-promoted or newly hired leaders in BayCare continue their growth through the Leadership Essentials Program, which provides additional learning based on content aligned to BayCare’s Leadership Core Competencies: Communication; Emotional Intelligence; Talent Development; Collaboration; Results Driven and Catalyst for Change.

Team Member Opportunities:

“As a BayCare team member, you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and utilize the vast resources available within the organization to continue growing and developing your talents.  Some of the resources offered to team members include: workshops focused on team member development, tuition assistance and reimbursement, career development programs, Associate Degree Nursing programs, and much more!  Along with these benefits, BayCare team members also have the opportunity to work directly with a career coach in a variety of ways depending on your specific and individual needs. Coaching sessions could include identifying personal interests and life goals through career assessments and one-on-one discussions; identifying skills through strengths-based coaching; matching educational institutions with possible career paths; and providing opportunities for job shadowing within BayCare.  We believe that a happy and engaged team member will put forth his or her best work in a collaborative team environment. And with these opportunities offered, team members will continue to flourish within our organization.”

BayCare means...

a united family of coworkers who strive to better the community by giving the best possible care to those in need in our community.
