eLearning Childbirth Education

Regency Center for Women and Infants is pleased to be one of the first hospitals in central Florida to offer an eLearning Childbirth Education program that provides a convenient alternative for parents-to-be who cannot attend a conventional class due to bed rest, scheduling conflicts, or time constraints.

The web-based program uses animated illustrations, videos, and interactive activities.

Topics include:

  • Childbirth education and labor support
  • Understanding labor and birth
  • Caring for yourself postpartum
  • Breastfeeding
  • Baby care basics

After you have registered and paid the $60 fee, we will send you a code to access the class. Your class fee includes:

  • 60 days of access to the program from the date of your first use
  • Opportunity to contact one of our nurse educators by email or phone to answer questions
  • Opportunity to tour the Regency labor and delivery services

Instructions and Troubleshooting Help

1. What do I need in order to view the eBook?

You will need the most recent version of Adobe Flash, a fast internet connection (DSL, Cable, or other broadband) and Adobe reader. Your computer will need sound and speakers or headphones for the audio.

2. How do I use it?

Read the eBook like you would a regular book---just click on the edge of the book to turn the page. There are also icons that open a movie or animation or give more information. Click on these icons to add even more to your learning experience. If you see a word in green, be sure to move your mouse over it to learn the definition. 

3. What if I am having difficulty with the eBook?

First, make sure your internet connection is working by visiting some other sites. Then, make sure you have the newest version of Adobe Flash. You may need to uninstall the previous version of Flash before you install the new one.

4. What if I can’t see anything?

Wait a couple of minutes more to let the program load. When internet access is slow, the ebook may load more slowly than normal. If, after several minutes, nothing appears, try restarting your computer.

5. What if the videos don’t work?

Give the videos a minute to load and make sure you have the latest version of Flash. If it still doesn’t work, try restarting your computer.

6. What is my code doesn’t work anymore?

Try re-entering the code, making sure there are no spaces before or after the code. Note: All “0” are numbers. If the code still does not work contact the Regency to make sure your code is still active. The code is good for 60 days.
