Hospital Leadership

Our hospital is lead by Chief Executive Officer Jacqueline Marie Arocho. We benefit from her nearly 20 years of post-acute care experience every day.  Jacqueline earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from San Diego State University and a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She began her career in the the rehabilitation industry where she was promoted to CEO for a large chain of rehabilitation and Long Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTCH). She is well qualified for her responsibilities here at Alliant where she manages all aspects of the hospital's administration and operation.

BayCare Alliant Hospital's medical staff is composed of 185 physicians and 20 allied health providers. All physicians on Alliant's staff are Board certified in their fields of medicine, and all medical specialties are represented on the Alliant staff.

Leonard Dunn, MD, Pulmonologist, is Alliant's Medical Director. Dr. Dunn is board-certified in both internal and pulmonary medicine. He has 30 years of experience serving the Dunedin and North Pinellas communities. He completed his medical degree at the State University of New York and served his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Florida. Dr. Dunn is a crucial advocate of Alliant's multi-disciplinary team approach, and acts as a liaison between referring physicians and Alliant's treating physicians, as needed.

In addition to its physician-directed pulmonary and vent weaning program, BayCare Alliant Hospital also offers physician directed wound care and physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. Palliative care physicians, as well as pastoral chaplains, are also available to meet the spiritual needs and concerns of patients and their families.

Long-term acute care nurses demonstrate very specialized skill sets. Alliant nurses take pride in their commitment to early and aggressive intervention and their unique focus on body, mind and soul in the personal care of each patient. BayCare Alliant nurses are specialty trained in taking care of such complex LTCH patients, with many nurses having years of ventilator, critical care and ICU experience.

Karen Duffy, Director of Patient Care Services, has experience in the rehabilitation hospital industry and a Master of Science degree in health services administration from the College of St. Francis, Joliet, IL, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the State University of New York.
