Drop-in Center: Adult Mental Health
Program Description
The mission of the Drop-in Center Program – CASA (Come and Stay Awhile) is to offer recreation, social, and supportive activities to persons who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness. The informal setting and structure of the Drop-in Center provides opportunities for persons to interact in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Linkage occurs with local inpatient programs, assisted living facilities, recovery programs, crisis stabilization units and other community programs, which serve persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
A council, made up of persons who utilize the center, provides input into the daily operation of the program as well as planning activities and events. Individuals recovering from mental health illness operate the Drop-in Center. The target population for services is individuals who have successfully completed intensive inpatient treatment, residential treatment, day or night treatment with host homes, day or night treatment, intensive outpatient, outpatient treatment or medication and methadone maintenance treatment.
