New and Expanded Steinbrenner Children's Emergency/Trauma Center Opens
St. Joseph's Children's Hospital opened its new and expanded Steinbrenner Children's Emergency/Trauma Center on December 16, 2013. The hospital has the busiest children's emergency center in the region, and the larger, advanced facility will increase the community's access to the highest levels of pediatric emergency care in the area. 2014 BayCare Sports Medicine Conference: Keeping Your Athletes in the Game
This year's conference focuses on the student athlete who is involved in high school and middle school sports, as well as those involved in other physical activities. Keynote speaker David Epstein, author of The Sports Gene, will present how the "10,000 hours rule" damages the performance and health of young athletes. In addition, there is an impressive lineup of BayCare professionals who will present health topics relevant to the active young athlete during the day-long seminar.
The Sports Medicine Conference is being held on Saturday, August 9, from 8am-4pm at Hilton Carillon Park, 950 Lake Carillon Drive, St. Petersburg. Fees (includes continental breakfast and lunch): Students: $35, Adults: $40 and CME/CEU Attendees: $65.
