Clinical significance:
Chromosome abnormalities are found in about 50% of cases by chromosome analysis and in about 80% of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cases by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) of interphase cells.  The most frequent changes are deletion 13q (55%), deletion 11q (18%), trisomy 12 (16 %), and deletion 17p (7%).
