2012 Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals Thomson Reuters named Morton Plant Hospital and Mease Countryside Hospital in the 100 Top U.S. Hospitals list for inpatient care. Morton Plant Hospital also received the Everest Award which indicates that national benchmarks for both long-term improvement and top one-year performance were achieved by the hospital.
2012 Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks Thomson Reuters named Morton Plant Hospital to the Top 50 U.S. Hospitals for inpatient cardiovascular services/heart care. Morton Plant Hospital is the only hospital to be listed thirteen years in a row.

Comprehensive Stroke Center St. Joseph's Hospital has been named a comprehensive stroke center by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. When awarded the honor, St. Joseph's Hospital was one of just eight stroke centers in Florida to receive this designation.
American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines® The Gold Plus Award is the highest quality award given by the AHA for its Get with the Guidelines stroke initiative and recognizes commitment and success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients, according to evidence-based guidelines.

Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) St. Anthony's Hospital and St. Joseph's Women's Hospital's Breast Center was named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for mammography, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided biopsy and stereotactic biopsy. This designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR's voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers Morton Plant Hospital's Comprehensive Breast Program received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Morton Plant was first hospital in Tampa Bay area to receive the accreditation. It was followed soon after by St. Anthony's Hospital's Susan Sheppard McGillicuddy Breast Center, which also received the same accreditation.
Gold Seal of Approval Lumbar and Cervical Spine Certification Mease Countryside and Mease Dunedin Hospitals' spine care received Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission. The Mease hospitals are two of only four hospitals in Florida to have this lumbar and cervical spine certification.
2012 Home Care Elite Each year only 25 percent of all home care agencies in the United States qualify to be considered as the most successful providers in the industry. The following BayCare HomeCare offices, again, were named to Home Care Elite status: Crystal River, Dunedin, Fruitland Park, Lakeland (includes Bradenton), New Port Richey, Ocala, Sarasota and Spring Hill.

American Health Care Association Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center Bronze and Silver Quality Award John Knox Village - Voted Gold Winner for “Best Rehabilitation/Skilled Nursing” in the Northeast Tampa area by the Tampa Tribune readers.
Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories St. Joseph's Children's Hospital was awarded reaccreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) for its transthoracic, transesophogeal and fetal echocardiography services. The children's hospital's non-invasive cardiology center is one of only a few in Florida to receive ICAEL accreditation in all three areas.
Florida Hospital Association's "Innovation of the Year in Patient Care" Morton Plant Hospital's Turley Diabetes Project received Florida Hospital Association's "Innovation of the Year in Patient Care" award. The project improved the percent of indigent diabetic patients who receive and attend follow-up appointments.
EPA ENERGY STAR Certification Mease Dunedin and St. Anthony's Hospitals received the EPA's ENERGY STAR for superior energy efficiency. The hospitals were two of only 86 hospitals in the nation to initially receive this recognition.
LEED® Certification St. Joseph's Hospital-North achieved LEED® Certification, making it the first acute care hospital in Florida and among the first in the nation to achieve LEED® certification.
Baby-Friendly Morton Plant Hospital and Mease Countryside Hospital have both been designated with "Baby-Friendly" status from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Baby Friendly hospitals have implemented specific steps to support successful breastfeeding. Morton Plant is one of only two hospitals in Florida and 102 in the nation to receive this designation.
