Botox(r) is a medication used to temporarily immobilize muscle function. It was originally created to treat certain eye conditions, mainly crossed eyes. Soon, it was found to relieve facial spasms and neck banding when injected at these sites. When small doses are injected into a specific muscle, only that muscle is unable to move and the frown-lines will stop. This results in smoother, younger looking skin around the injected areas.

Botox(r) is used for cosmetic purposes to soften wrinkles in specific facial areas, such as the vertical forehead creases, horizontal forehead creases and crow�s feet on the side of the eyes. Following the injection process, patients will notice visible improvement within the first week with minimal to no recovery period. The typical relaxing effect should last about 4-6 months.
