BayCare Alliant
Hospital is a 48-bed, long-term acute care hospital (LTCH) affiliated with
BayCare. The 25,000-square-foot facility provides diagnostic, medical
treatment and rehabilitation for patients experiencing complex medical conditions due to chronic disease or injuries. The hospital
takes a multi-disciplinary,
family-centered approach with physicians, nursing and other health care specialists working together
toward the goal of the best possible recovery for patients.
BayCare Alliant is
located inside Mease Dunedin
Hospital. Long-term care hospitals located within
general acute care hospitals are often referred to as "hospitals within a
hospital" or "HIH's." A typical stay at a long-term acute care
hospital is 25 days.

sets. BayCare Alliant nurses take pride in their commitment to early and aggressive
intervention and their unique focus on body, mind and soul in the personal care
of each patient.

a crucial advocate of our multi-disciplinary, team approach, which includes a staff
of physicians who are board-certified in their areas of specialty.
Patients
BayCare Alliant's patients are medically stable but fragile,
and require extended hospitalization. Examples of diagnoses include:
ventilator dependence/respiratory failure, cardiovascular disease, medically
complex pressure wounds and peripheral vascular disease.
Patients are admitted by their own physician and may come to
BayCare Alliant from a general hospital, an assisted living facility, nursing
home or from their own home. BayCare Alliant accepts admissions from any
hospital.
