Top Hospitals National Benchmarks for Success
Mease Countryside Hospital was named one of the nation�s
100 Top Hospitals(r) by Thomson Healthcare, a leading provider of information and
solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. This is the seventh
time the hospital has been recognized for its overall organizational
achievement.

Top Hospitals(r) by Thomson Healthcare, a leading provider of information and
solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. The award recognizes
hospitals that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety,
financial performance, and efficiency.

Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success
Morton Plant Hospital was one of only two hospitals in the
United States to receive a Top 100 recognition for its cardiac care for nine
consecutive years. Thomson Healthcare developed the 100 Top Cardiovascular
Hospitals study to identify high-performing cardiovascular hospitals nationally
and to set performance targets for improving clinical outcomes and management of
this service line.
St. Joseph�s Hospital was recognized as a 100 Top hospital
for cardiac care in the national study.
2008 American
Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Morton Plant Mease Health Care again received "Magnet"
designation, the coveted gold standard for nursing excellence, from the ANCC.
Magnet designation, first awarded to Morton Plant Mease in 2003 by the ANCC, is
the culmination of a comprehensive process that evaluates patient care, working
environment, interdisciplinary relationships and processes of the entire
organization.

Stroke Center
St. Joseph�s Hospital has been named a comprehensive
stroke center by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. The hospital
is one of just eight stroke centers in Florida to receive this designation,
which certifies that St. Joseph�s Hospital is nationally recognized to deliver
the highest quality care to stroke patients.
Hero of
Emergency Medicine
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) has
recognized Charles Sand, M.D., an emergency physician at St. Joseph�s Hospital,
as a Hero of Emergency Medicine.� This recognizes emergency physicians who have
made significant contributions to emergency medicine, their communities and
their patients.

Society of
Thoracic Surgeons Three Star Rating
The highest designation given to hospitals by the Society
of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for quality of heart surgery was awarded to Morton
Plant Hospital in the first year the award was given.
