Morton Plant Mease Health Care

• Morton Plant Mease's Heart Program received top designation by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
• The Joint Commission awarded Morton Plant Mease the Franklin Award of Distinction for case management.

Morton Plant Hospital

• The first "Bay Area Baby" was born at Morton Plant Hospital just 12 seconds after midnight.
• Morton Plant Hospital received its ninth national Top 100 recognition for cardiovascular care and is only one of two hospitals in the country to do so.
• Morton Plant Hospital received its second consecutive Premier Quality award for heart care.
• Dr. Peter Blumencranz, along with Dr. Maura Pieretti, was the lead researcher on the first gene-based test, called GeneSearch, to detect breast cancer. The procedure was selected as one of the year's top 10 medical breakthroughs by TIME magazine.

Morton Plant North Bay Hospital

• The Mitchell Rehabilitation Hospital at Morton Plant North Bay earned an accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) - one of the highest honors a rehabilitation program can receive.

St. Anthony's Health Care

• Received Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification.

St. Joseph’s Hospital

• Won 2007 Frances Smith Clinical Excellence Award from the Florida Nurses Association.
• HCC bestowed the Clinical Excellence Award to SJH Ultrasound.
• Dr. Philip Adler named Hospital Hero by the Florida Hospital Association.
• Joint Commission recertified SJH as a Primary Stroke Center.
• 2007 award winner in the 2007 Thomson 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success Study.

St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital 

• A record 7,520 deliveries in 2007, with 687 deliveries just in the month of August.

St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital

• Richard Sheridan, M.D., was named United Way of Tampa Bay’s Volunteer of the Year.
• Diabetes education program merited ADA recognition.
• Received accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories for its transthoracic, transesophogeal and fetal echocardiography services.
• A photo of a SJCH patient was chosen for the NACHRI 2007 Children’s Hospital Photo Exhibit.
• Kids are Heroes honored more than 100 children.

South Florida Baptist Hospital

• Recognized by the Premier healthcare alliance with the 2007 Premier Award for Quality for excellence in the care of patients in the area of Acute Myocardial Infarction.
