Intervention and Outpatient: Temporary Assistance to
Needy Families (TANF)
Program Description
TANF Adult Mental Health services are
specifically for persons who meet the federal criteria for Temporary Assistance
to Needy Families (TANF). These services are targeted toward persons who are
currently receiving cash assistance or are at risk for receiving cash
assistance. The goal for the TANF program is to identify and provide the
necessary substance abuse services to assist individuals in alleviating symptoms
which are barriers that keep them from obtaining and maintaining employment,
which can lead to self-sufficiency and family stability. TANF services
focus on reducing
the risk factors generally associated with the progression of mental health
problems.
TANF programs are intended to serve two target
populations:
- Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA): Individuals/ families
receiving cash payments, and
- TANF Diversion Families (TDF): Individuals/ families who are
at risk of needing TCA.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 8
a.m. to 5 p.m.
