BayCare Health System Appoints Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer
Clearwater, Fla., (Feb. 13, 2009) - BayCare Health System (BayCare) announced today the appointment of Stewart Schaffer as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer (CMSO). This newly created position reports to President/CEO Stephen R. Mason.
Schaffer will be responsible for system-wide marketing, strategic planning, public relations and government affairs. He is tasked with deploying a system-wide integrated marketing and planning framework so that BayCare can achieve its strategic and business plan goals. He will be directing all initiatives associated with the continued launch and management of BayCare�s new brand.
Stewart has a solid background in achieving significant business growth through the creation and implementation of strategic plans, marketing campaigns, branding initiatives and new business development,� said Stephen R. Mason, president/CEO, BayCare Health System. He has a 25-year track record for creating stakeholder value in diverse industries.�
Most recently Schaffer was the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Lazydays RV SuperCenter, the largest single-site recreational vehicle dealership in North America. Prior to joining Lazydays he was Corporate Vice President of Marketing for ClubCorp International, the largest owner and operator of private clubs and club resorts in North America. At both of these companies, Schaffer was responsible for marketing and strategic planning as well as the development of new brands, markets, services, membership and customer loyalty programs. He also previously held marketing positions at American Express Company and International Paper Company.
Schaffer holds a BS in Economics and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a resident of both Clearwater and most recently Tampa since 1988. His son, Eric, is a commercial real estate associate with CB Richard Ellis in Tampa and his daughter, Lauren, is an applicant for the accelerated BS Nursing program at the University of Florida.
