Isaac
Mallah is the president and CEO of St. Joseph's Hospitals in Tampa and
South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. With over 1,030 beds, St. Joseph�s
Hospitals and South Florida Baptist Hospital are part of BayCare, a
community-based health care system in the Tampa Bay area.
Mallah joined St. Joseph�s Hospital in 1976 as an administrative
resident to complete his master�s degree in hospital and health administration
from Xavier University in Ohio. Since then, he has held a variety of positions
within St. Joseph�s.
He was the chief operating officer when St. Joseph�s Health
System acquired John Knox Village and Humana Women�s Hospital. He also assisted
with the consolidation of St. Joseph�s and St. Anthony�s hospitals and the
development and implementation of HealthPoint Medical Group, a
hospital-affiliated, primary care physician group.
With the formation of BayCare Health System in July 1997, Mallah
was appointed president and chief executive officer of St. Joseph�s-Baptist
Health Care. St. Joseph�s serves the sprawling metropolis of Tampa as the city�s
largest, private not-for-profit health care provider. St. Joseph's has an
outstanding reputation for treating adults with complex medical and surgical
problems. Its Centers of Excellence include the cancer, neuroscience and heart
institutes.
Mallah is a diplomat of the American College of Healthcare
Executives and serves on the boards of the Florida Hospital Association Federal
Advocacy Committee, the Florida Hospital Association PAC Board for Healthy
Communities, the Judeo Christian Health Clinic and the Tampa Chamber of
Commerce.
