Our hospitals, Mease Dunedin and Mease Countryside ordered our supply of flu vaccine from Chiron, one of two manufactures that produce vaccine in an injection form. Chiron has now been prohibited from shipping its supply to the U.S. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we will not be offering flu shots at this time. State health officials and local hospitals are working on a plan so that the available supply of vaccine is provided to those at highest risk. If you have any specific health questions about your risk-level, please contact your physician. We will update the community as we learn more about the vaccine shortage.
